Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah (Rahmatullah Alaihee)
Established in 1958 with the mandate of 'Divine and Humanitarian Service Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM) is now one of the leading voluntary development organizations in Bangladesh. Dhaka Ahsania Mission, a registered non-profit, non-government, non-political, voluntary and charitable society is incorporated in Bangladesh under the Society Registration Act, 1860. The motto of the Mission is “Divine and Humanitarian Service”. Sufi Saint Hazrat Khan Bahadur Ahsanullah (Rahmatullah Alaihee) originally established the Mission in 1958, who was an educationist, litterateur and practical philosopher.
DAM has four separate but inter-connected programmes, which include Education, Livelihood, Health, and Human Rights and Social justice. DAM expects that the synergistic impacts of all the interventions made under the four programmes will not only contribute to improved living conditions of the poor but also empower them to claim their rights and entitlements and gain access to resources and services provided by the public and private sector institutions. Apart from the core programmes, DAM also has a number of supportive programmes.
